Strawberry Truffle

Introducing my new design, Strawberry Truffle. THere was some debate on whether this should be named Mocha, Truffle, or even Strawberry Milk. Which, btw, I really like strawberry milk. I just think it should be more of a frothy pink everywhere, so im going to work on that. For now, enjoy the new design!

Bump on the Head
Filed under: My Daughter Charlotte — trisha @ 2:09 pm

My lovely (3yrold) daughter, decided that walking from the couch to the end table would be a super brilliant idea today. The problem, other then the obvious, is that I wax the end tables. Do you know where this is going?

Yep, big knot on the back of her head now. Thankfully its under her hair..is it sad that you have to even worry if someone thinks you abuse your kids, so your glad when its in a hidden spot?

Here are some tips if your child ever falls hard on their head.

Check for signs of:

1) Vomiting

2) Dialated or different sized pupils

3) inverted knot (raised is normal)

4) sleepiness..dont let them sleep, they could slip into a coma

5) and a friend told me that she always heard to put them on the potty..if they pee immediatly, it could be a sign of concussion. I am unsure about the truth in that one, sounds like an old wives tale to me, but you never know.

Make sure you take your child in if they experiance any extreme symptoms (not sure on that last one) to make sure they are not suffering from any injuries.

Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of
Filed under: The Life of Me — trisha @ 12:01 am

Annoying the crap out of me. You know, I love my friends, I really do. I love that they are outspoken, opinionated, and bring to the table a variety of amazing opinions and views on situations I would never have thought possible. HOWEVER…

We were having a chat on infidelity and how although it can be a destroyer of much trust and many relationships, that at the same time, it doesnt have to be an end all. I have know many a friend who have been on the wrong side (*whichever that may be) of an affair, and are now happily married many years later. So anyhoo..I made a comment that sometimes the better or for worse in a marriage vow can definatly be the worst and that may be dealing with an affair. And she says, that you have to decide if the worst is infedility, where does it stop..at rape, murder, abuse.

Ok. Now here is where the convo went wrong. Are we really comparing rape, murder, and abuse to an affair? Im not saying its right, clearly its wrong, but lots of good people get caught in a situation that is unfortante, and it doesnt mean with some counseling and hard work they cant get their marriage back…but rape? Murder?

Goodness. Can I please have a conversation without it turning into an extreme situation. Maybe Im just to much of a realist.

*banging head*

Im so lucky to be a few hours away from one of my very good friends finally. Our daughters got to meet for the first time last weekend. We hope for many more trips like this one. The girls were darling hanging out together all day! However, my friend has a new daughter (gorgeous girl!!) and MY daughter was so insanely jealous over her daddy holding the new baby, it made me 2nd guess the whole other child thing big time. Saying she flipped out would be a slight understatement.

What a week! Oh man, the cable guy
Filed under: The Life of Me — trisha @ 2:51 pm

I know this is supposed to be more of a business blog, but I HAVE to talk about my experiance w/ the cable/internet company this week. Last week I set up the cable/internet to come out and set me up. They were scheduled for monday, between 1-5. About 4:45pm, I called the cable company…just to make sure I didnt make a mistake, I mean, I had waited ALL DAY for them to arrive.

They guy shows up at 5:30. Nice of me to waste the day. Well, I am not going to be bitter about it, I am just grateful for access! The first thing I tell him is that I need my office wired for access. He proceeds to tell me that he cant do it becuase this is a “2 story house”. I said, what does that have to do with it? He then changed his stratedgy and tells me that it would look ‘tacky’ to run a wire from the outside into the office. Tacky? What does this guy know about tacky? He showed up LATE! I told him I dont care, I want it wired, and he said “most home owners associations dont allow it”.  At this point, I am SO irritated that he is trying to DODGE wiring my office because he wants to go home. I tell him I want it wired!!!!

He gives up, comes back and says “Good news, your cables are on that side anyway, so I can do it.” Thats what I thought.

THen the real fun begins.

He asks me what rooms I want hooked up in the house and I ask him how many are included. He proceeds to feed me a line that Mediacom will charge me $5.95 a MONTH for everyroom I hook up in the house, but if I “pay him on the side” he will hook it up and not tell them. I repeat my question..how many are included and maybe I should just call Medicom and ask. He repeats that I can just pay him. We are at a standstill. I know that I have to write a check for $111 for this service and I want to know how many rooms are included. Clearly he mistook me for a moron when he lost the arguement about my office being wired. He said he had to check his sheet. He miraculously comes back in and guess what? ALL OF THEM are included in my install.

Two hours pass while he pulls out all of my furniture. Of course he runs out of wall plates for the rooms, doesnt actually hook the cable to any of the TVs (left those on the floor, apparantly that must not be part of the install either), and back to my office for the internet. He asks me if I want a self install…uh, no. I wnat you to do it! I tell him I have been here all day, I want it hooked up properly. He spends an HOUR in the office. He comes out and says he reset the computer and it should be fine.

Then he grabs his stuff and leaves. I walk around the house, all the furniture is pulled out, cable wires on the floor, my cable box doesnt work, and the big shocker? The internet did not work when the computer pulled up. Its now 8:30. He was here for THREE HOURS and nothing works.

I call medicom..after a good half hour I get someone on the phone who does something where I can use my cable box. Mind you, this is my first DVR so I have no idea how to work it, I set the remote and hook the cables up to the best of my knowledge, but really I just rigged it temporarily.

The next day I call back to Medicom. I wait almost a full HOUR on hold. I get someone and tell her the story, she schedules someone to come out the next day between 8am-12pm.

Can you guess the way the story ends? 12 comes around…no cable guy. I call up there, they say he is running behind and he would be here at 2pm. 2Pm rolls around..no cable guy. At this time, my daughter has been locked up in this house for days waiting on the cable guy to come. We cant even run anywhere for fear we will miss him and I wont get another service call for weeks. She gets up from her nap at 4pm..no cable guy. So we go to the store, get dinner and come home.

A knock at the door….its 6:10. The cable guy. WHAT THE HECK HAPPENED TO BETWEEN 8 and 12?????????? OMG!!!!!!! I am livid at this point.

Atleast this new guy didnt try to scam me, he put in my wall plates, hooked the TVs up and added HD wires that the other guy did not leave, gave me a new modem (im told temporarily because apparantly both of the two so far are broken), and atleast he didnt leave the furniture pulled out.

Im so glad I got to waste half my week on the cable/internet. Today I am waiting for the phone guy..from the same company between 8 and 12. Any guesses what time HE will show up?

Tip: I guess I can use this as a business lesson. BE ON TIME and DO YOUR JOB RIGHT. Dont try to skim becuase your tired, because the person waiting on your butt is tired too.

Moving this weekend!!!!!
Filed under: The Life of Me — trisha @ 3:50 am

Finally….moving out of my Mother in Laws house….I think I feel more sorry for her, then I. Her house is trashed from Charlotte, our stuff has slowly spread from 1 room to about 5 rooms in the house, our cats are just chilling on the porch outside-miserable. We close on Thursday, so Ill be back in business sometime next week and hopefully things will become so much more smooth. New designs, new samples, new auctions, and of course, talking about everyday life and getting out there again. Woo Hoo
